My name is Carla Kokotailo and I have been a teacher with Elk Island Public Schools since 2008. I am one of the grade 6 teachers here at Lakeland Ridge and I am thrilled to be part of the wolf pack community. Most of my teaching years have been spent in grades five and six, but I have also taught Kindergarten, ELA, grades 3-7, and 9. I truly enjoy teaching the 'middle years' age group...they keep life interesting!
My husband is a high school P.E. teacher in Elk Island Public Schools and when we are not at school we love to travel (warm destinations) with our fur baby! He is a mini-dachshund named Jeffrey, who thinks he is bigger than he is and runs the show at our house! I have a love of sports, science, politics, and all things technology! In my spare time I also enjoy golfing, playing volleyball, curling, running, playing slo-pitch, shopping (a lot), gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
As an educator, it is my goal to help your child succeed, find their strengths, help them improve, and explore their passions! Communication between home and school is essential to success. All information regarding our classroom, important assignments, and upcoming dates will be posted on our classroom website.
